Teacher Appreciation Week 5/3 – 5/7

During this school year, our Homestead staff has gone above and beyond educating our students as normally as possible.  We want to show our gratitude during Staff Appreciation Week, May 3rd-May 7th.  We have provided a few ways we can show our teachers how much we appreciate them.

Monday, May 3rd:  Fill out the attached form with your favorite staff member in mind.  Once you have it all filled out, deliver it to them in person or email it to their Homestead account.  All staff emails are located on the Homestead Website.

Wednesday, May 5th:  Let’s get creative!!  Record a video, draw a picture, write a letter/poem, or share your favorite memory with a Homestead staff member.

Rather shop instead??  Some staff members have created an Amazon Wish List filled with items for their classroom.  The Wish Lists can be found below.  Simply click on the teachers list, select the gift/gifts you wish to purchase, and simply deliver them to the teacher once you have received them (some lists have been set up to have the items mailed directly to the teacher, please read the check out message to know what to expect).

Friday, May 7th:  Staff Members can enjoy their favorite coffee drink or treat with a $15 gift card to Starbucks gifted by the Homestead PTCO.

Volunteers needed for 2021-2022 School Year

Homestead Elementary School and the PTCO are so fortunate to have such a passionate and engaged parent community. Thank you to our volunteers who provide many of the wonderful opportunities available to our students. Volunteers are part of what makes our school so special, so let’s continue the tradition!
We welcome all volunteers! We have a variety of Board positions and Event / Program Chairs. Each position is unique and offers various levels of time commitment.

If you are interested in learning more about the positions we work to fill each year, please refer to the PTCO Board and Event & Program Chair Volunteer Info sheets (attached). For additional information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, volcoorhomesteadptco@gmail.com.

If you are interested in a PTCO Board position or know of someone who would be a good fit, please complete and submit the Nomination form by simply clicking on the QR Code below. Submissions due Friday, March 5th. The Homestead School community will then vote on all nominations after submissions are received. The Slate will be presented at the General Meeting on Thursday, April 29th.

If you are interested in a coordinator position, please click on the link below for the Committee Chair Interest Form*. This allows us to get to know more about you and your volunteering interests.
*Please indicate your interest in the Board and Committee Chairs role for the 2021-2022 School Year. While a current volunteer may occupy one of these positions, it is helpful to know where your interests lie.
We hope that you will consider volunteering at Homestead next year.

We look forward to receiving your interest forms!

The 100% Homestead School Fundraiser is live now!

February 5 – February 19

How does it work?

This fundraiser does not require you to sell anything to friends OR bid on items you don’t need! All you have to do is donate what you can to help support our school!

Our Goal

Everyone’s participation is critical in order to continue to provide the best possible experience for our students.   This year we are aiming to raise $25,000.  We know that this past year has been especially hard for all of us, but we still need support from each and everyone one of you.   Based on our goal, we are suggesting a donation of at least $100 per student; but we will be so appreciative of any amount you are able to give!

Every single dollar and every single family counts!

How do you donate?

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and can be made by check payable to Homestead Elementary PTCO (mailed or dropped off at the school’s front office) OR online at  https://100-homestead-2021.cheddarup.com

  • Each participating student will be entered to win a Homestead baseball hat and sticker (2 winners per grade).
  • The class who raises the most will win a pizza party.
  • If we meet our goal of $25,000 the entire school will win a pajama movie day.
  • Top earning student will win the chance to decorate Mr. Hardy’s office (with a friend) with balloons and streamers!
  • The top three donor families will win a reserved parking spot in our front parking lot.

Keep an eye out for communication from our PTCO team throughout the campaign.  And if you have any questions please contact our PTCO fundraisers at homesteadptcovp@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Community Outreach Update

September 14th-18th

Please help support our sister school in the Cherry Creek School District and Clothes to Kids of Denver by donating food and gently worn clothing. There will be boxes in the front and back parking lots during drop-off the week of September 14th-18th for your donations. If this time doesn’t work for you, please email community.outreach.homestead@gmail.com to arrange another time to drop-off items.

What to Bring:

*Single Serve Items

*Healthy Snacks

*Non-perishable items

*Food kids can easily make

*Grocery gift cards

*Gently worn clothes

Please sign up to volunteer to help with the Homestead Community Food and Clothing Drive the week of September 14th-18th. Due to Covid-related restrictions, we will not be able to drop the food and clothing off in the school this year. Therefore, we need a couple of people to stand near the front and back parking lots taking people’s donations at drop-off each morning of the week. If there are any questions, please email community.outreach.homestead@gmail.com. Thank you!!
